User Experience | Product Design
Hi, I’m Ame.
Pronounced “aim”—it means “contented.”
Growing up left-handed, I was far from “contented” by my experience with everyday things. I was constantly reminded that the world wasn’t designed for my needs. Today, that feeling drives me to create experiences that accommodate everyone. As a designer, I now view contentment as my goal and how I measure success. And I now see that I have a fitting name—like Usain Bolt.
I build experiences.
Most recently, I built a UX team from the ground up and launched 3 products in cloud infrastructure management. Previously at Bloomberg, I led a project to unify mobile navigation under a single framework across platforms. At the Gutell Lab at UT Austin, I developed a bioinformatic app for navigating RNA structures.
Working in complex domains—such as cloud infrastructure, finance, and bioinformatics—has taught me to value simple, strategic, and collaborative approaches that scale.

I like to ask why.
And keep asking why. After I dig deep into a topic, I organize my understanding into different layers. Connecting concepts between those layers is how I manage complexity and simplify workflows.

I make things tangible.
I like to make the invisible visible through diagrams, which I use for sharing knowledge and building consensus.

I work in systems.
I see the interaction, the touchpoint, and the user experience as the intersection between two systems. That point is an opportunity to connect business goals with individual purposes, motivate people, and build user value.
